I was fortunate enough to work with Akai Professional as part of the beta team for the Akai EWI (Electronic Woodwind Instrument) 4000s, an incredible wind synthesizer controller. The EWI 4000s is the fourth generation of EWI and has some very unique features including a built-in analog modeled synth. No longer does the EWI controller need to be tethered to a proprietary module, the 4000s is a true stand-alone instrument. It also features on-board effects. I worked with Akai from 2005 – 2009 including numerous demo’s of the EWI around the world. The attached video is from NAMM 2006 and has over 55,000 hits on YouTube.
